The
Comfort & Joy Circle members meet prayerfully
monthly to knit shawls for individuals who have personal spiritual needs
because of bereavement, health needs, or when they are burdened or
grieved as caregivers of loved ones with serious health concerns.
All who are interested in participating in this touching ministry,
are invited to join the C & J Circle at their next meeting on
Monday, May 5, 2:00pm. All are invited to participate with
their time and talents knitting or crocheting, providing donations
for yarn purchases, or recommending gifts of shawls for individuals in
need of comforting embrace. Knitting instruction is available and requests for shawls may be made through the pastor or
Deacons.
Members of the circle have been very busy so far
this year knitting and crocheting shawls and afghans to keep up with
requests for comfort items for individuals and families facing illness,
loss of a loved one or care-givers. Fourteen prayer shawls have already
been delivered in 2008 and we have received several notes of thanksgiving for the prayers of the congregation and the comfort of the
shawls.
