Stewardship

The Stewardship Committee meets during the spring to select and prepare for the Annual Stewardship Campaign. The campaign is then run in the fall. We ask all our members and friends to pledge to financially support our church along with volunteering their time in one of the many committees.  Once the campaign is over, all financial information is handed over to the Finance Committee and all volunteer information is handed over to the committees.  The Stewardship committee sends "Thank You" notes to all who pledged.  Then the committee is disbanded.

Stewardship Task Force Launched

Ellen B, Jennifer C, Glenn I, Pastor Elizabeth, Pat L and Don T have been meeting together to review and refocus the stewardship emphasis at LPPC. As our congregation embarks on a new process for exploring and clarifying our mission, new opportunities for outreach and for giving will emerge.

Watch for more news from this energetic group about vision, mission, and our generous stewardship of time, talents and money. If you’d like to join in the process of shaping our future, please let Pastor Elizabeth know.

A Discussion About LPPC’s Future

Sunday, June 8thimmediately following the 9:15am service.

A lively group of 74 members & friends of LPPC stayed after worship on June 8 for coffee and conversation regarding our vision for LPPC and our dreams for renewing and expanding our sense of congregational mission. Gathered at tables of eight, we shared our passions and visions, and then identified priorities for the future. Fellowship Hall was abuzz with energy and excitement throughout the discussions.

Rhea G acted as scribe for the group reports, compiling our corporate visions at this point. A complete report of the many ideas generated will follow later in the summer. For now, at least one project—which was universally endorsed by the group—has been started into action.

Use Your Tax Rebate to Bless LPPC

—and bless yourself in return. For some of our members, the tax rebate that will be coming in the mail is not necessary for survival in these tense economic times. It is “found money.” Scripture says that we are more blessed in our giving than in anything else we can do. Why not share the blessing of the rebate with your family at LPPC? We are meeting our budget this year, but that doesn’t mean that we are in any way meeting what our mission giving should be—l0% or more of our budget. We could also pay down our mortgage farther and free up those monies so the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program can help other churches. Please prayerfully consider using all or part of your tax rebate as a blessing to others. Join us in this opportunity to make something really good come from this dividend.

Stewardship Sunday, Oct 24, 2004 ~ First Fruits; Fruits of the Spirit

These fruit baskets were circulated from home to home to collect pledges.  This was an opportunity for members and friends of the church to interact outside of worship services .  A small fruit-inspired gift was included when the basket was passed.
