OUR LEADERSHIP

The Session is the elected governing body of LPPC and is composed of 8 representatives from the congregation, called Elders, who are ordained and commit to provide the spiritual care and direction of the programmatic and financial operations of the church. Elders are elected by the congregation for staggered three-year terms.

With the Pastor as moderator, the Session exercises leadership, government and discipline; encourages the congregation in the worship and service of God; renews people for their tasks within the church and for their mission in the world. They individually and jointly strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation.

The Board of Deacons is a group of 7 congregational members who have been elected by the congregation to assist the Pastor in supporting the spiritual needs of members and to administer to the needy. They have a moderator who is elected by the board.

Their work includes preparing the Communion Table for worship each month, coordinating the weekly prayer calendar, mailing "get well" and sympathy cards, visiting shut-ins, preparing meals for families and providing food and clothing for needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
